Thinking out loud about ADHD with Hiroko Nishimura, M.Ed.

Are you frustrated at how hard it seems to be to just get things done? Do hitting goals or milestones just seem so out of reach, even though you’re super excited to begin on Day 1? I’ve gone through cycles and cycles of the frustration and inevitable disappointment as my brain seemed to fail me again and again.

As a brain injury survivor that resulted in pretty severe Executive Function Disorder (Executive Dysfunction), mirroring ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) symptoms, I spent years trying to figure out how to get my brain to work in ways so I can just “do” things like other people seemed to be able to do.

In 2025, I decided to make a pivot into trying to figure out how I can use my own personal experiences living with executive dysfunction and my background in special education to help others struggling to organize, work, learn, and thrive despite ADHD or executive function disorders.

My BHAG is to publish online courses or a book on this topic, but in the meantime, this is a public “journal” of sorts where I will be jotting down notes, formulating resources, and sharing what I’m learning with the rest of the world.
